Aged Care Services
Support at Home is a new Australian Government program that helps older Australians stay independent and continue living the life they love at home.
The program brings together a range of practical and personal supports such as help with daily tasks, home maintenance, health and wellbeing services, and social connection activities to make everyday living easier and more enjoyable.
Whether you need a little extra help or more regular assistance, Support at Home gives you the flexibility to choose services that suit your lifestyle, preferences and goals.
This service provides access to personalised care and support, and aims to make the system simpler, fairer and more consistent for everyone.
The program puts the rights of older Australians at the centre of care, as outlined in the new Statement of Rights.
It replaces the Home Care Packages and Short-Term Restorative Care programs and has been designed to align with the Aged Care Act 2024 and the Strengthened Quality Standards.
The Commonwealth Home Support Program will also transition to Support at Home, but not before 1 July 2027.
The Australian Government has designed Support at Home to be a simpler, fairer, and more flexible aged care system for older people living at home.
This new approach gives older Australians more choice and control over the support they receive at home.
