Community & Women’s Groups
We offer a variety of community groups designed to bring people together, build connections, and support wellbeing.
Our programs evolve based on community feedback and needs – from women’s and parenting groups to environmental initiatives and sewing sessions.
Some of the current regular groups at 4CS:
Lakemba Ladies Lounge
A welcoming space for women to connect, learn and relax together. Each week, women can meet others, join in an activity, try something new, or simply enjoy a cup of tea and a chat.
It is run by women for women and is held each Thursday between 9:30 am and 12:30 pm at The Cottage, 28 Croydon St Lakemba. All activities are free morning tea is provided, and children are welcome.
Parenting Programs
We partner with local Family Support Services to offer parenting programs that help parents understand their children’s needs and build stronger families.
Programs cover different stages and themes from early childhood (0–3 years) to the teenage years and are available in English, Urdu, Bengali, and Rohingya. Sessions may run as short courses (3–5 weeks) or as one-off workshops.
Participants should have prior experience using a sewing machine and feel confident working independently.

Environment@Lakemba
Help make Lakemba a cleaner, greener and healthier place to live. Join our local resident action group, environment@Lakemba, to reduce litter, prevent illegal dumping, and care for our local environment.
Supported by 4Cs and Canterbury Bankstown City Council, the group meets regularly to plan community clean-ups, education campaigns and stalls at local events.
